Falcondale Hotel in Lampeter

The luxurious Falcondale Hotel in Lampeter has been short-listed in the Best Place to Eat category of the National Tourism Awards for Wales 2013.

The Falcondale prides  itself on offering style without pretension in a relaxed restaurant that uses the best of seasonal, local produce.

The restaurant has been awarded 2AA rosettes for five years running. Low food miles are an integral feature of the menus, and part of the hotel’s green policy, and many dishes include herbs and salad greens from The Falcondale’s own kitchen garden.

The county of Ceredigion offers a rich larder, providing lobster, crab, sea bass, sewin, Welsh black beef and Welsh lamb. With neighbouring Carmarthenshire providing speciality cheeses and excellent cured ham.

“We like to offer our guests a fine dining experience but without any affectation,” says Lisa Hutton, hotel owner. “Being short-listed in the best place to eat category endorses our efforts, and those of our fabulous team in the kitchen.”

The finals of the National Tourism Awards for Wales  take place at Venue Cymru in Llandudno on 21 November 2013, where the overall winners will be crowned.
