In only 4 weeks via Twitter Mat Follas (Masterchef 2009 Winner) and a team of volunteers pulled together:

* A 9-course banquet
* by 5 Michelin star chefs and another 50 chefs from across the country
* for 200 guests
* an auction with over 40 lots hosted by Tim Hayward
A wide variety of gifts were auctioned, which included:

* Two Economy Class return tickets from Air New Zealand and a week long wine tour £3700
* A 3 course meal for 6 at Tayyab’s £750
* A meal cooked by Adam Gray, Russell Bateman and Peter McCombie in your home £2750

Deputy High Commisioner Belinda Brown opened the event which was attended by Zinzan Brooke, Aldo Zilli, who were entertained by the Ngati Ranana club who performed the Haka.
