Next month, FoodCentral in Dublin is set to be the location for one of the most important gatherings of the year for businesses involved in the Capital’s food sector.

The Dublin Food Chain is organising its evening Food Forum on Tuesday, October 2nd, which is being hosted by Keelings and FoodCentral in St. Margaret’s, close to Dublin Airport.

The theme of the Food Forum is ‘Growth, Innovation and Collaboration in the Food Industry’, and is expected to be one of the biggest events of Fingal Enterprise Week, according to the Fingal County Enterprise Board.

The Group Managing Director of Keelings, Caroline Keeling, together with the Managing Director of FoodCentral, William Keeling, and the Managing Director of Keelings Retail Ireland, David Keeling, will be sharing the group’s ‘keys to success’ with food producers and suppliers, giving a ‘behind-the-scenes’ look at the FoodCentral facilities.

James Burke, a former group purchasing manager with Superquinn and now one of the industry’s most respected specialists, will be offering advice around strategy and collaboration to food companies. This dynamic, fast-paced event is being facilitated by Bronagh Conlon, an artisan food consultant and founder of the ‘Real Irish Food Company.’

Announcing details for the Dublin Food Chain event at FoodCentral, William Keeling, the Managing Director of FoodCentral said: “We look forward to welcoming both up-and-coming food producers as well as established food companies to FoodCentral for this important industry event during Fingal Enterprise Week. By building on the current success of FoodCentral, it can become the sustainable gateway for Ireland’s food and drink industry. We look forward to discussing the possibilities around collaboration, growth and innovation with those involved in the food sector on October 2nd at the Dublin Food Forum.”

Joe Harford, Chairman of the Fingal County Enterprise Board said: “The Dublin Food Chain is a joint initiative between the Irish Exporters’ Association and the County and City Enterprise Boards in Dublin and Fingal-based companies, in particular, play a pivotal role in the Irish food industry. It is very fitting therefore, that one of the pioneers of the Irish food industry, Keelings, are hosting this important industry event at their Fingal base.”

The Dublin Food Forum event is open to anyone involved in the food growth, production, transport, wholesale and retailing sector. Attendance is free but places are strictly limited and bookings can be made on-line through www.fingalenterpriseweek.ie. Running from October 1st to 5th, Fingal Enterprise Week is supported by Fingal County Council, Bank of Ireland and Newstalk.
