Alongside the Goulburn River

Alongside the Goulburn River

On June 22, three iconic Central Victorian wineries Mitchelton, Fowles Wine and Tahbilk will team up to host a roast on the banks of the Goulburn River in Nagambie, Central Victoria.

A perfect solution to a cold winter’s night, Mitchelton’s beautifully renovated Cellar Door will welcome guests to enjoy three distinctly different roasts and a platter of local artisan cheeses matched with an exceptional selection of wines, all set to the wonderfully mellow sounds of folk singer Freya Hanly.

Chefs from each winery will collaborate to challenge the idea of the conventional roast with Indian, modern Australian and Moroccan inspired dishes. Each dish will be paired with a wine from each winery to deliver a delicious range of food and wine matching experiences.

Mitchelton, Fowles Wine and Tahbilk are located in the picturesque Nagambie Lakes and ruggedly beautiful Strathbogie Ranges wine regions of Central Victoria.

Just 90 minutes from Melbourne these iconic wineries are distinctly different, reflected in the styles of their award winning wine, but unified in an enthusiasm to showcase the quality and diversity of Central Victoria.

This shared vision spurred them to develop a brand – River and Ranges – to formalise their collaborative efforts to promote Central Victoria as a food and wine destination. This roast is an event presented as part of this River and Ranges initiative.

The roast will include Indian inspired roast canapés, smoked roasted pork crackle crusted salmon and Moroccan roasted Fowles Farm lamb – a range of dishes the River and Ranges wineries believe will deliver their guests from the cold and keep things spicy when it comes food and wine matching.

Transport to the event has been organised from Nagambie, enabling guests to relax and enjoy travel to and from the event.

Mitchelton Winery Manager, John Beresford said: “We’re excited to be hosting this event as it’s a great opportunity for guests to explore the diversity of our quality food and wine, enjoy our warm hospitality and meet the folks behind the flavour in Central Victoria.”

  • Mitchelton, Fowles Wine and Tahbilk River and Ranges Roast: $110 per person inclusive of all food and wine.
  • The event will be hosted at Mitchelton Winery: 470 Mitchellstown Road, Nagambie, Victoria 3608.
