Swiss Food Festival

Swiss Food Festival

Executive Chef Tanja Nixdorf will mesmerise guests at Swissôtel Sydney’s Swiss Food Festival this winter. Held in the newly renovated Jpb Restaurant, guests can enjoy the real flavours of Switzerland from 28 July to 12 August 2012.

Now in its fourth year, this popular annual festival is dedicated to showcasing the hotel’s proud Swiss heritage. Chef Nixdorf has created scrumptious Swiss delicacies that are steeped in cultural tradition and bursting with genuine Swiss flavours.

Set to excite the palate is an appetising choice of entrées which include Bündner Gerstensuppe (Swiss barley soup) served with sour dough as well as Carpaccio Bündner Fleisch. Mains comprise of the famous Züri Geschnetzlets (shredded veal in mushroom sauce) or the delicious Plain Rösti (plain Swiss potato pancake). Finish your sumptuous meal with delectable Öpfelchüechli (Swiss chocolate fudge cakes with cinnamon-sugar and vanilla sauce served with sour cream ice cream) or Bündner Nusstorte (Swiss walnut pie) to leave your taste buds wanting more.

Swissôtel Sydney’s General Manager, Mr Daniel Fueglister, said he is excited to bring the real essence of Switzerland to Sydney. “My favourite part of any traditional Swiss feast is the Swiss cheese fondue. Not only is it delicious but the enjoyment and delight you experience when sharing with friends or family is something you don’t forget.”

Integral to the success of this year’s Swiss Food Festival are key sponsors, Swiss Air and Swissôtel Hotels and Resorts in Switzerland.

Jpb Restaurant’s Swiss Food Festival is available from 28 July to 12 August 2012 each night 6pm – 10pm. The dinner buffet is $84.00 for adults and $35.00 for children under 12 years. Diners stand a chance to win a 7-night stay for two people in three luxurious Swiss destinations with return flights courtesy of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts and Swiss Air.
