moemas’s in parktown north: another foodie favourite

the super fantastic Moema's in parktown north

I think Moema’s is the best patisserie in Gauteng. Its also a rather nice little restaurant with daily special dishes to choose from.

The window display can only be described as food shop porn. I challenge any foodie to cruise past without walking in and buying a little treat or two.

The pork and sage pies are deletable, and I would go so far as to say the best ’sausage roll’ I have ever eaten.  Light, crispy and flaky pastry with a moist and juicy pork, onion and sage filling. Its now firmly on my list of baking missions.

very delicious pork and sage pies aka gourmet sausage rolls

roasted aubergine with herbed yoghurt, basil and pistachio nuts amongst other things

roasted sweet potato and butternut

salad of cucumber, fennel, halloumi and cherry tomatoes with a sweet mustard dressing

millefeuille aka custard slice an all time fave

big voluptuous meringues reminding me of paris

chocolate cupcakes with a fresh strawberry on top

the chicken pies are also damn fine
